Dear Community Member & Friend,
We are honored to launch Abba’s Torah - a Torah Scroll dedicated in loving memory of Reb Sholom Ber Eber of Blessed Memory, affectionately known as “Abba” (“Father”) to his children and grandchildren.
Abba lived a life deeply rooted in Torah, mitzvos, and selfless devotion to others. A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, he was a man of quiet strength, boundless generosity, and genuine warmth. He never sought recognition, yet his impact was deeply felt by all who crossed his path.
Guided by the timeless Chabad ideal that every act of goodness and kindness brings more light into the world, Abba lived with humility and purpose. He extended compassion, encouragement, and care to everyone he met, embodying true Ahavas Yisrael, a deep and sincere love for every individual.
From the very beginning of the FiDi community, Abba took tremendous pride in its growth. He believed in its mission, encouraged its development, and supported it in countless ways behind the scenes. As the community flourished, so did his joy in seeing it become a vibrant center of Jewish life.
In his memory, we are dedicating a Sefer Torah that will live at the heart of this community - a Torah that will be read, danced with, and cherished by generations to come.
The name " Abba's Torah" carries an additional, deeper meaning.
Every letter written in this Torah represents another bond between a Jew and Hashem, and every dedication helps build a lasting legacy of Torah, faith, and connection that will inspire generations to come.
A Sefer Torah is more than a scroll. It is the living heartbeat of the Jewish people, a source of connection, inspiration, and continuity. By writing a Torah in Abba’s honor, we ensure that his legacy of Torah, chesed, and love for others continues to illuminate the lives of so many.
May his neshama have an aliyah, and may his legacy continue to inspire light, faith, and kindness in our community and beyond.
Please take a few moments to explore our Torah website to learn more about this unique opportunity and discover how you can become a part of this everlasting legacy.
Thank you for joining us in writing the next chapter of our community's story.
Sincerely,
Rabbi Nissi & Chaya Eber
